From: The Editor (mdb@le.ac.uk)
Subject: Commuincator
On Monday 22nd April, CIC Video released the following Star Trek videos:
Star Trek Voyager - volume 2.4
Star Trek Deep Space Nine - volume 4.4
Each tape retails at #12.99 each.
It is with great regret that I'll be closing down Engage for good at the end
of next month. The reason being is that I just don't have the time anymore to
search the 'net for Trek news and my interest in the show has completely
fizzled out.
There are now many other Star Trek news sources out on the 'net which provide
a far better service than I do. I only started this newsletter way back in
1993 as there were no other online Trek newsletters.
To subscribe to any of the other Star Trek newsletters that are available
on the 'net, see the end of this issue.
Many thanks for your support over the past 3 years. As Captain Kirk said in
ST:Generations....
..."it was fun!"

Subject: DS9 - Now what's boring?
Okay, So those of you who said DS9 was boring...have you seen 4.1 yet? A real
tension builder and more action than you could wave a mk 2 phaser at. I'm
sure those of you who haven't seen it yet will pick it up or see it on Sky
when it (finally) appears, but I urge you to see it, at least once! This is
what Generations should have been (not that I didn't like Generations).
To add to this there are some great episodes that follow, especially the
'Little Green Men' episode that should be out by the time you read this...
Roswell, 1947 + Quark and Co. = trouble!
That's it for now.

Subject: Chat Room/Database of info
For all you Star Trek fan i have some cool news. I reacently rented Star Trek
The Next Generation, Vidio Game for The Super Nintendo. It is an ok game.
Better is that on the simulated bridge is a computer that has tons of
information conserning the enterprise cultures other starship and stats weapons
it is a very large database with tons of infoon Star Trek.
Check it out, rent the game it is worth $3.00 to rent it.
I am also inviting you all to the best roleplaying chat room for Star
Trek on the web. Netcentral chat has a room called Ten Forward. Please come
in and play with us. Many people already have handles and that should be
respected. We basically have two rules if it could have happened in the Trek
world you must go along with it with the exception of someone playing a bad Q.
The second is that If you are new you should come in as an ensign. If you
decide to come in as a Captian or Lt. etc... Be sure you can roleplay the
character correctly. If you cannot you will be asked to try to find another
character. The following is a list of characters already taken.
http://chat.netcentral.net/cgi-bin/nph-chat
Captian Picard(me), Will Riker; Thomas Riker; Lt. Worf; Ensign William;
Savvik;
Capt. Cisco; Nuchtchas(Female Klingon); Q; Coucilor Troi;
All are welcome. We are currently at peace with the klingons and at war with
the Romulans. We have been ordered to the neutral zone to patrol the boarders
we have already had numerouse skirmishes withthe Romulans and barley won on
two occations. For the most part we are always within 5 days of Ds9 at warp
6. Hope to see U there.
Sincerely
Ross Baker/Captain Picard

Subject: Re ST Writer's kit Vol 3/36
A few Comments on an article about Writer's Constructor Kit
Is this for real ? or is it a sublte attack at Paramount and the
standard of the scripts and while Microsoft is meantioned it is not a
attack at them (unlike previous article 'Boldy Monopolize).
the aricle reads like marketing hype but the lack of release detials or
price suggests it is 'vapourware' (which MS is famous for).
Editor>>>> It was a subtle attack at Paramount.

Hello Trekkies.
I have a question. What would you personally do if you were in Will Rikers
position: Second in command of the Federation flagship, or a command of
your own? Is Will Riker right to do what he is doing, or is he just doing
it to stay on the show...
